Back to the Beach 2/18/17

So I took a friend of mine to the beach yesterday because she really needed a Beach day. In one week she quit her job and moved into a new place. And she had more stuff to move than a family of four. Plus on top of that, she had to gave away her dog. Needless to say this woman really needed a Beach day. So I told her that we are going to one of my favorite beaches where I knew she could enjoy the water and I could also get some surfing in too. Because the waves have been on fire the last couple weeks and I really needed to get my gills wet too. So off we went to the dump first to get rid of some E waste which just happened to be was on the way.
As we are making out way to the beach down the 3 mile bumpy road, she mentioned that she would never drive this herself. But I think after what happened next would change her mind. We got down there and finally finding a parking spot we got ready to make the short walk to the beach.
I at this point realized that I forgot to bring a paddle for my SUP. So it looks like I’m surfing on my paddleboard today. Which was ok because I’m a much better surfer than a paddle boarder anyway. But they are so wide it does make it more difficult to surf on.
Long story short, we got down there and the water was absolutely amazing and the waves looked fun too! She spent to next hour frolicking in to ocean while I went out surfing. She told me she liked the water better than the beach anyway. But I couldn’t believe that she was still floating in the water the whole time I was out surfing. It was at least an hour if not more. I paddled over to her when I saw she was still in the water and we both rested on my board for while and went in! After we reached the beach she told me just how appreciative she was for this special time we had today, and just knowing her for the little time I have I believed her!
